The firm was founded in Crows Nest by Peter Sorensen in 1970. The firm changed its name to Sorensen & Brown in the early 80's after Tony Brown became a partner.

The firm's area of practice includes small to medium business and general commercial, conveyancing and commercial property, commercial leasing, commercial litigation, family law, probate and contested estates and traffic matters.
Peter Sorensen is an honours graduate from Sydney University Law School. He was admitted in February 1967.
Peter founded the firm under the name Sorensen & Sorensen in Crows Nest in 1970 and has worked in the firm to date.
Peter practices in conveyancing, leases, wills & probate and commercial law. Peter has also undertaken pro bono work over the years for which he has received an award from the law society.
Peter is a well known yachtsman who has competed successfully in yachting events in Australia and overseas for many years. He was awarded the Order of Australian medal for services to yachting and charity in 2001.
Tony Brown is a graduate in Arts and Law from the University of NSW. He joined the firm in 1979 and he and Peter entered into partnership the following year.
Tony practices in a number of areas including all aspects of small to medium business, all types of civil litigation, family law, wills and estates and motor vehicle/traffic law.
Tony too is an active yachtsman and regularly competes in races on Sydney Harbour in his Etchells class yacht.
